Dear colleagues
Please be advised of the results of the Open Chess Tournament dedicated to Defenders Day, held under the declared “2025 – Year of Working Professions.” The organizing committee of the tournament KPO Trade Union (M. Khairullin), Karachaganak Trade Union (M. Umbitgaliyev), in cooperation with HR&S (M. Ivanchenkov) — successfully held the Chess Tournament on May 4, 2025, as per the approved regulation. The event took place in Uralsk, at Astana microdistrict 3/1, 2nd floor, “Altyndar” Trade Center, Chess Club boutique.
The tournament generated great sporting excitement, attracting also players of high master level. There were passionate fans and intense battles across all age categories — from children to veterans. Due to the unexpectedly large number of participants, the organizing committee extended the tournament’s duration. The event was a great success and warmly received by all. During the official awards ceremony, participants and guests expressed sincere gratitude to KPO and the Trade Unions for organizing such a high-level tournament. Many participants were proud to play against regional, national, and international champions at the chessboard. Despite some frustration over losses, the players were genuinely happy to face such high-level masters — opportunities to play against opponents of this caliber are rare.
